Blue cloth covered boards with gold lettering and gold club emblem on the front and spine; mild shelf wear with light bumping to the corners and edges; gold stamping bright. Binding tight. Turquoise endpapers lightly toned at the gutter. Marlor, Ed.D. Founded as the New York Sketch Club in 1871, the Salmagundi Club is America's oldest professional art club. The roster lists each member's year of membership, member type (artist, lay, honorary, founding, emeritus, or life), professional affiliations (NA, AWS, etc.), and year of death where known. Notable members include Edwin A. Abbey, Thomas Moran, Anders Zorn, Ulysses S. Grant, Gordon Grant, Frederick W. Hutchinson, J. Scott Hartley, and Henri Laussucq. Preceded by a foreword from Club President John N. Lewis, a brief club history ("100 Years of the Salmagundi Club"), a preface by Marlor with the key to membership codes, and a "Memorable Events" photo section.
