In Very Good condition, no dust jacket. Pictorial paper-covered boards in rust, hand-printed with a large black brush serpent on the front and an elephant beset by snakes on the rear; title "SSSS" lettered in green with "Snake Art & Allegory" in white. Mild shelf and surface wear to the covers; binding tight. Black brush-printed snake-pattern endpapers on pale ground. Interior pages clean and unmarked. A co-publication of Tara Books (Chennai) and the musée du quai Branly (Paris), printed and bound in India by AMM Screens. Text by Gita Wolf; illustrations by Ianna Andréadis; research by V.
