In Very Good condition. Glossy pictorial paper covers picturing the B.C.E.R. #400 Birney "Safety Car" streetcar, with a small nick to the top edge near the spine and light bumping to edges and corners. Mild shelf wear. Binding tight, pages mildly toned but otherwise unmarked. A souvenir guide to the Modern History galleries of the British Columbia Provincial Museum in Victoria, opened on July 7, 1972 as the first permanent galleries completed at the museum since the display building opened in 1968. The guide walks visitors backward through the galleries, beginning with The Metropolis (1920s-1970s), through Urbanization and Industrialization (1870s-1920s) with sections on cities and industries, the Gold Rush Era (1840s-1890s), and Fur Trade and Exploration (1740s-1860s) by sea and by land. Foreword by Director J. Bristol Foster. The rear cover and a closing page reproduce the third-floor plan of the Modern History exhibit, showing the layout of the galleries.
