In Very Good condition, no dust jacket. Deep blue textured cloth boards with gold lettering to front and spine reading "Nadhji Arjona / Bob Eisenmann, el Forjador de un Sueno"; boards show mild shelf wear with light bumping to corners. Binding tight. Mild toning to interior pages, otherwise unmarked.Scarce privately printed Panamanian biography (edicion de la autora, printed by Litho-Impresora Panama, S.A.; cover design by Virgilio Ortega Arjona). Subject is I. Roberto Eisenmann Brandon ("Bob" Eisenmann), Panamanian businessman and developer. His father Gustave Eisenmann (Alsatian emigre via New Orleans) and Carlos Eleta founded the American Bazaar in 1904, Panama City's first department store; the subtitle refers to Bob's signature undertaking, the creation of Coronado, the Pacific-coast beach resort community west of Panama City, built in stages from 1948 on former Eleta coastal land. The biography was commissioned by Bob's son I. Roberto Eisenmann Jr., who in 1980 founded La Prensa, Panama's leading independent daily and the principal press voice against the Torrijos and Noriega dictatorships. Drawing on interviews with Dr. Eugene Eisenmann B., Vanessa de Eisenmann, and other family members, Arjona traces the family's Alsatian and Sephardic-Panamanian origins, Bob's New York schooling at Dewitt Clinton High and Harvard, his business career (American Bazaar, Hotel El Panama, Coronado), and his family life.
