In Good condition. Pale blue-gray paper covers with a vivid cobalt blue painted brushstroke design reading "ZORACH" in white lettering. One half-inch tear to the fore edge of the front cover; mild shelf wear with some toning and fading to the edges. Binding tight. Pages unmarked.Survey catalog for a joint retrospective of work by William Zorach (1889-1966) and Marguerite Thompson Zorach (1887-1968), two of the foremost American modernist artists associated with Maine. Text by Dr. Roberta K. Tarbell examines their careers separately, tracing each artist's formative years and their later work in Maine, where they summered for decades at Robinhood Farm on Georgetown Island. Marguerite Zorach was a pioneer of American modernism in painting and textile arts, best known for her striking hooked rugs and large embroidered tapestries. William Zorach was one of the most significant American sculptors of the twentieth century, known for his direct carving in stone and his Maine watercolors. The exhibition traveled to three venues: the William A. Farnsworth Library and Art Museum, Rockland, Maine (July 11-September 28, 1980); Colby College Museum of Art, Waterville, Maine (October 26-December 14, 1980); and the Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, Massachusetts (May 29-August 2, 1981).
