In Acceptable condition. The covers show several chips and tears of 1 inch or less and creasing along the edges, with moderate overall scuffing and soiling; the back cover has heavier soiling and damp staining. A previous owner's address label is affixed to the lower corner of the front cover. The staple binding is solid and the interior pages are secure. Interior pages are affected throughout by damp staining, which has caused the red inks to bleed extensively, leaving many pages with a pronounced pink hue. Small marks and tears to the edges of pages and light overall toning; otherwise unmarked.Of particular interest to collectors of Dornford Yates: this issue contains Part I of the six-part magazine serialization of "Gale Warning," the first appearance of this 1939 adventure novel, illustrated by Floyd Davis. Woman's Home Companion serialized four of Yates's novels between 1933 and 1939, and this March 1939 issue marks the opening of the final and most sought-after of these serializations.
