In good condition. Covers show toning, soiling and foxing with minor edge wear; Binding tight. (staple bound); interior pages have scattered foxing and age toning throughout; otherwise unmarked. Written by the granddaughter of A.D. Foote, one of the mine's key figures, this history draws on family letters, papers, and diaries to chronicle the North Star Mines from their discovery in 1851 through the closure in 1929, covering the evolution of mining techniques, ownership changes, and the role of the mines in the development of Grass Valley.
