Illustrated throughout with color and black-and-white photographic reproductions, color photomontage views, maps, and transportation diagrams. Color illustrated front cover signed in plate by Lungers-Hausen.

Condition & notes

In good condition with light edge wear, shallow creasing from folding, light surface scuffing, and age toning. Vertical fold lines. Interior pages show light toning; otherwise unmarked. Overall a clean, well-preserved wartime spa and travel prospectus. Illustrated promotional brochure for the Bavarian spa town of Bad Kissingen, issued for the 1940/41 season. The brochure highlights the town's celebrated mineral springs, medical and therapeutic treatments, Kurhaus and park facilities, and leisure activities including golf and excursions into the Rhon and Spessart regions. Includes sections on approved medical indications, spa therapies, accommodations, and transportation access, including rail, automobile routes, and air travel connections with references to Lufthansa airline service. Notable for its rich visual presentation and for reflecting the continued promotion of domestic health tourism in Germany during the early Second World War period. The front cover features an original color illustration signed Lungers-Hausen, a German commercial illustrator active in applied and tourism graphics during the mid-20th century.
