Auction catalog for the sale of Russian Pictures held at Christie's, London, on Wednesday 30 November 2005. Property included works from The Estate of Countess Grocholski and The Trustees of the Knole Second Trust Fund. Artists represented include Benjamin Patersson, Boris Mikhailovich Kustodiev, Konstantin Andreevich Somov, Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovskii, Isaak Ilich Levitan, Ilia Efimovich Repin, Konstantin Egorovich Makovskii, and Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, among others. Major highlights include Aivazovskii's The Sinking Ship (1859) and The Shipwreck (1875), Levitan's Marsh at Evening, Repin's The Revolutionary Before Execution, and Shishkin's monumental Forest Clearing.
