Auction catalog for the sale of Russian Works of Art, Faberge, and Silver held in London on Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1 December 2005. The sale included property from The Howard Gilman Foundation and The Estate of the Countess Grocholski, as well as important European private collections. Highlights include a Faberge gem-set grey chalcedony group of three Pekinese dogs, ca. 1890; a porcelain soup plate from the Orlov Service, Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, period of Catherine II; a pair of George IV silver wine coolers, John Bridge, London, 1824; a George II silver oval cake basket by Peter Archambo, London, 1736; a highly important George II silver seal-salver, engraved by Charles Gardner, London, 1728; the Altenstetter Service, a unique German Renaissance enamelled silver banqueting service, circa 1615; and Faberge bowenite, enamelled, and silver-mounted objets de vertu, ca. 1890-1910.
