In very good condition. Grey printed paper covers with decorative device and black lettering. Light toning to edges, mild wear at spine ends and corners and light soiling and spotting to covers as well. Binding tight. Pages lightly toned but otherwise clean and unmarked. Does not include estimates or prices realized. Auction catalogue for Sale No. 2067, held November 29, 1961, at Parke-Bernet Galleries, Inc., New York. Public exhibition ran November 25 to date of sale. The sale comprised works belonging to the estates of Maude Stager Eells (Cleveland, Ohio) and John Lek (New York), with additional consignments including Billy Rose (for the benefit of the American-Israel Cultural Foundation) and a Venezuelan private collector. Includes entries for Old Master and later European paintings: Primitive and Renaissance works; Dutch and Flemish 17th century; Italian and French 17th-18th century; British 18th century portraits; and 19th century paintings and drawings. Artists represented include Gustave Courbet, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Eugene Delacroix, Giovanni Battista Moroni, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Sir Henry Raeburn, Jean-Francois Millet, and Thomas Gainsborough, among others.
