In good condition. Green illustrated paper covers have light bumping and creasing to edges and corners and light overall aging and fading along edges. Original price written in top corner of rear cover. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages lightly aged but otherwise clean and unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. Cover illustration: The Maile Wreath. A concise history of the Hawaiian Mission Children's Society, first organized in 1852 by descendants of missionaries in Honolulu. Originally written by Dodge in 1952 for the Society's centennial, with Silverman's continuation leading up to the 1970 Sesquicentennial of the Pioneer Company of the Sandwich Islands Mission. Includes reproductions of early membership certificates, photographs of mission houses, portraits of founding members such as John Thomas Gulick, Asa Goodale Thurston, and Persis Thurston Taylor, as well as facsimiles of constitutions and charters.
