In good condition with a few small nicks and tears and light to moderate rubbing and aging to covers. Roundup magazine was a short-lived Western lifestyle and community magazine produced by the Diamond Kee Rancho Boosters Club, Inc.. Its purpose was to promote Yucca Valley's Diamond Kee Village as a "Future Desert Home of the Western Stars." The Diamond Kee Rancho Boosters Club, Inc., was a non-profit corporation "promoting Western and Folk artists, writers, amateurs, disc jockeys, record industry, radio and television stations, etc., which will focus national and international attention on the Western Folk field." The booster club supported the proposed Diamond Kee Village which would have been located in the rolling hills of the old Diamond Kee Ranch. Cover art of this issue is entitled "Riders in the Sky" by Kirk Martin. The magazine also features an article about Kirk Martin and includes photos of some of his other works. Other articles include: Rhabdomancy-Water-Witching-Dowsing; I Hate my Mother; The Last Golden Cavern, Lady from 29 Palms, fiction; Many interesting ads and photos throughout. An interesting snapshot of the outskirts of the California deserts in the early 60's.
