Light overall scuffing and soiling to covers sa well with a bit of color scuffed off along edges. Binding tight (staple bound). Exhibition catalog issued in conjunction with a traveling show organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and the Art Institute of Chicago, in cooperation with the Hungarian National Gallery and the Institute for Cultural Relations, Budapest. Foreword by Gyongyi ERI. Not to be confused with the longer 72-page 1977 edition by Pal Miklos, this version is a distinct, abbreviated catalog produced specifically for the 1979 U.S. tour. Includes a foreword (signed in print by Gyöngyi Éri, Deputy Director of the Hungarian National Gallery), an overview of Hungarian Art Nouveau painting and graphic art, and reproductions of works by Jazsef Rippl-Ronai, Tivadar Csontvary Kosztka, Karoly Ferenczy, Lajos Gulacsy, Sandor Nagy, Aladar Korosfoi-Kriesch, and others. Decorative Art Nouveau border motifs frame the title and section pages.
