Vanni Alfani presents a comprehensive study of Tuscan postal history up to 1851, tracing its evolution from the Grand Duchy's origins through the development of royal and community post offices, as well as systems of weights, coins, tariffs, and postal relations with various duchies. His meticulous research, conducted across libraries and state archives, fills a longstanding gap left by the absence of a single, consolidated text of postal notifications.
