In good condition. Brown textured paper covers have have a few small nicks along the edges and light bumping and creasing to edges and corners. Light overall scuffing and fading to covers as well. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Color and black and white illustrations. Published in commemoration of the Church's eightieth anniversary in 1952 in downtown Birmingham. Originally established in 1858 in Elyton, the church relocated to 21st Street and Fourth Avenue North in 1872, becoming the first church building in the newly founded city. The book details the church's architectural evolution, with particular attention to the addition of stained-glass windows in the 1950s. It also describes the congregation's role in the city's religious and social history. Illustrated with engravings and historical photographs, the book was arranged and edited by Clarence M. Kilian during the pastorate of Rev. Edward V. Ramage, D.D.
