Despite his blindness, Carey continued to have a successful career both in performing and composing. Buell Music was his private publishing company. The cover artist, Leland Stanford Morgan, (1886 - 1981) was a renowned commercial artist based primarily in San Francisco, especially known for his sheet music covers in the early 20th century. He created several covers for Buell Music in the 1910's. [Verse 1] One night in June, you filled my heart with gladness, for in your eyes, I saw the love-light gleam, And all too soon, my joy is turned to sadness, My dearest hope, is just a shattered dream] [Chorus] Hearts never break, griefs never kill; mine only aches, loving you still; Ah, dear, can you forget, That blissful night in June? Tho' from my side, fate bids you go, What e'er betide, this do I know: That thro' the long years, alone with my tears, I'll keep on loving you.
