Condition & notes

In good condition with a few small nicks and tears and light creasing along edges. Light overall scuffing, aging and soiling to pages as well, but otherwise unmarked. Beautiful cover design by L. S. (Leland Stanford) Morgan. Maurice Jacob Gunsky (1888 - 1945) was a popular song writer and singer based in Northern California. Born to Russian-Poland immigrants, Gunsky started his career in the printing industry before transitioning to music. By 1909, he was performing as a Jewish tenor in San Francisco, and by 1914, he began providing lyrics for songs. Gunsky had several successful collaborations with Nat Goldstein, including "My 'Kewpie' Doll" (1914) and "That Haunting Waltz" (1921). Nat Golstein was a one of the few successful music producers based in San Francisco. The cover artist, Leland Stanford Morgan, (1886 - 1981) was a renowned for his commercial artist based primarily in San Francisco, especially known for his sheet music covers in the early 20th century.
