In good condition. Blue paper covers have light bumping and creasing to edges and corners. Moderate to heavy fading to edges and rear cover as well. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages lightly aged but otherwise clean and unmarked. NOT Ex-library. The Society of California Pioneers was founded in 1850, in San Francisco, CA, by a group of settlers who had arrived in California before its statehood on September 9, 1850. The primary purpose of the Society was to preserve the history and experiences of those who were part of the early settlement of California. The Society's publication, the "Quarterly", was first issued in the early 1920s. Contents of this issue: A Salute to the Third Generation by O.P. Stidger ; The Leese Scrap Book (personal documents and letters of Jacob Primer Leese, who came to CA in 1833); Records of a California Residence by George H. Baker; Announcements and Reports of the Secretary and the Curator. Black and white illustrations.
