In very good condition. White glossy illustrated paper covers. Small scuff to color illustration on front cover and light bumping to edges and corners and light overall scuffing and soiling. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages clean and unmarked. NOT Ex-library. Includes several nice black and white reproductions of Guzzi's works. Pier Enrico Guzzi was born in Savigliano (Cuneo). He started his studies in Piedmont and only after high school, he moved to Rome to study scenography. Guzzi was profoundly influenced by the Middle Ages and early Renaissance. This inspiration led him to develop his distinctive technique, which involved preparing a surface similar to a wall on a wooden board using lime and plaster, then applying colored mineral pigments and oil in multiple layers. This method resulted in paintings with exceptional three-dimensionality and depth. His works often featured architectural structures and de Chirico-like mannequins, merging human architecture with elements of nature like the sea and sky. This fusion created dreamlike atmospheres in his paintings. Guzzi spent his last years in Liguria and chose the Galleria d'Arte Portofino as his exclusive representative. His works are displayed there as part of a permanent collection. Pier Enrico Guzzi passed away in 2018
