In good condition. Green and white paper covers have light bumping and creasing to edges and corners and light overall scuffing, aging and soiling. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages lightly aged but otherwise unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. A report of how production costs in Los Angeles between 1929 and 1939 compared with those in five other areas: San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. The report points out production cost differences, product by product, among six areas and examines the reasons for those differences. It examines the trends of materials and labor costs for various industries including forest products, stone, clay and glass, textiles, paper, chemicals, leather, transportation equipment, machinery, iron, steel, food, printing and rubber products, and compares them to the costs in the other 5 cities. It concludes that Los Angeles more frequently offered advantages to manufacturing industries on the basis of labor costs than on the basis of cost of materials.
