Previous owner's gift inscription on front paste down and traces of a child's scribbles in pencil on front free end paper. Remainder of pages are unmarked with occasional light spotting and soiling. NOT Ex-library. NO remainder marks. Wonderful color illustrations throughout. Overall a solid reading copy. The Storytime Treasury McCall books were a beloved series featuring two fairy tales in each oversized hardcover book. What made these books stand out was the gorgeous illustrations. Alas, the books do not credit who the artists were. This book contains 48 pages of full-color illustrations, but the style of the illustrations varies between the two stories, suggesting that the book may have been illustrated by multiple artists. There are some online auction records for illustrations attributed to Ugo Fontana that match some of the illustrations in Thumbelina.
