Divided into two books in one volume, Book One is “The Biography of Battle” in which the author, after discussing the various causes of wars and noting that wars occur so often for the same reasons, reviews “twelve famous wars (or groups of wars), from the viewpoint of a tourist” , noting that while nothing happens the same way, there are striking similarities.
