In her meticulous pen and ink and vivid depictions, 82 Guanyin pictures appear on paper like a Buddha's light. [About the Artist] Xiao Bo, formerly known as Bu Xiuqin, emerged in the Shanghai painting scene in the 1980s. Influenced by Buddhism, Xiao Bo began to paint Guanyin and Arhat, and within a few years, the Guanyin and Arhat in her works have been vivid and superb. She is the artist who painted the long scroll of "Five Hundred Arhats", in which the many arhats in this long scroll have different expressions showing the depth of her work. This long scroll was inscribed by Cheng Shifa, a master of the maritime painting circle, and the famous calligrapher Gao Shixiong. Her painting "Eighteen Arhats" was acquired and collected by Vice President Rong Yiren in 1999.
