Description

Mills Music, New York [Published Date: 1946]. Sheet music, piano. Three pieces: Strange Dance, A Chinese Village and In a Belfry Tower. Paper covers, 7 pp. Each piece 2 pages long. Loose leaf and laid into original cover.

Condition & notes

In good condition. Brown paper covers are split down the fold of the spine and have been taped back from the inside with clear tape. Covers also have light creasing and scuffing. Interior pages are lightly aged but clean and unmarked with some light creasing. NOT Ex-Library. Born in Kokand, Central Asia, Joseph Prostakoff (1911 - 1980) came to the United States in 1922, at age 11. He studied composition with Mark Brunswick and Karol Rathaus, and piano with Abby Whiteside. In addition to being highly regarded as a piano teacher Prostakoff’s legacy of compositions includes works for small instrumental ensemble, voice and piano.
