Poe: Perrsia, the Land of the Gulestan and Nomading South of the Equator. The author most likely made these trips in the mid-1930's. Includes interesting descriptions of the many ancient wonders and bustling cities of both Persia and South America before WWII. Good in acceptable dust jacket. Green cloth covered boards with gold lettering on front and spine. light bumping and scuffing to edges of covers. Binding tight. Previous owners' inscription in pen on front free paste-down. pages lightly aged but otherwise unmarked with occasional light spotting and soiling. Dust jacket has several 2" or less chips and tears and creasing along edges. Light to moderate overall scuffing, and soiling to jacket as well. Sophie M Alberding Poe was the author of "Buckboard Days", the story of her husband John W Poe's adventures which included buffalo hunting in Texas and his part in the 3 man posse that took down Billy the Kid. During his lifetime, She encouraged him to write his own account of the death of the "Kid" which was published in 1933 bearing the title "The Death of Billy the Kid". Her home in Roswell, New Mexico is in the National Registry of Historic Places.
