The exhibition received the AICA-USA award for Best Show in a University Gallery, shared with Hood Museum of Art. Goldberg studied with Hans Hofmann, took part in the Ninth Street Show of 1951 and in 1962 took over Mark Rothko's studio at 222 Bowery. Inside covers and several figures reproduce 1963 photographs by Jerry Schatzberg of Goldberg at work and in his studio, some with Bill Berkson.
