Diary-form memoir of the two months in late 1968 that songwriter and cabaret pianist John Meyer (1937-2024) spent with Judy Garland in New York and Boston, months before her death in 1969. Meyer wrote "I'd Like to Hate Myself in the Morning" and "After the Holidays," both introduced by Garland. The account runs from their meeting through a planned engagement to the end of the affair, with Garland's own words recorded in detail, and includes an index. Later reissued by Citadel (2006) and BearManor Media, and adapted for the stage.
