In Good condition. Glossy tan illustrated paper covers (front: engineer at a geared apparatus; rear: astronomical dial with sidereal and mean solar time clocks), white lettering on front and spine. Mild shelf and edge wear, with bumping and creasing to edges and corners and a little peeling at corner tips; some scuffing to lower rear cover. Mild fading to spine. Binding tight. Pages mildly toned along edges; light spotting to edges of text block. Rear endpapers have a few page references in ink; pages otherwise unmarked. Second volume of Hiscox's illustrated encyclopedia of machinery, a companion to his Mechanical Movements, Powers and Devices, reproduced here from the 1927 sixth edition.
