In Good condition overall. 1999: navy wraps with light blue lettering; scraped patch (approx. 1 inch) to upper right of front cover where a sticker was removed, light bumping and creasing to edges and corners, some color loss along edges. Light dampstain along fore-edge of 8 pages; otherwise unmarked. Juried annual exhibition catalogues of the National Watercolor Society, founded in 1920 as the California Water Color Society, each reproducing the award winners and accepted paintings in color, with jurors, award donors, board of directors and membership roster. The 1999 catalogue includes a two-page memorial to California watercolorist Robert E. Wood (1926-1999) with four plates of his work, and a list of NWS Purchase Award winners from 1932 to 1998 including Phil Dike, Rex Brandt, Tom Craig, Dan Lutz, Jade Fon and Edward Betts. The 90th anniversary catalogue, juried by Christopher Schink, includes a history of the society, a gallery of past presidents with examples of their work (among them Gerald Brommer, Katherine Chang Liu and Arthur Kaye), and an In Memoriam section on Keith Crown, Lee Wexler and Henry Fukuhara, the Manzanar internee who later taught watercolor workshops at the camp site.
