In Very Good condition. Pictorial paper covers with light bumping and creasing to edges and corners, mild surface wear with some fading to spine. Dark flecking across tan panels of both covers is part of the printed cover stock, not soiling. Perfect bound, binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Douglas Aircraft turned 75 in 1995, and the anniversary caught the company at its lowest point. Division employment peaked at 52,000 in July 1990 and fell to roughly 35,000 by June 1992, a third of the workforce gone in two years. Robert H. Hood, Jr., president of Douglas Aircraft, tells employees here that the anniversary "finds us at the deepest part of our longest down cycle." Three aircraft are highlighted in the final pages, and none were built: MD-XX, the MD-12 double-decker, and the NASA-partnered High Speed Civil Transport. Boeing absorbed McDonnell Douglas in 1997.
