In Very Good condition with a Very Good dust jacket. Maroon leatherette boards with gilt lettering and gilt ruled panel to front board and gilt lettering on spine. Mild shelf and edge wear. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Pictorial dust jacket lettered in maroon, with sepia photographic views of early Wolf Point to front and rear panels, shows light bumping to edges and mild shelf wear, with a small yellow spot to rear panel. Now in an archival quality (removable) Brodart cover. Year-by-year history of Wolf Point, Roosevelt County, in northeastern Montana, running from the Lewis and Clark exploration and the homestead era through the town's 1965 Golden Jubilee. Presser began the work as a weekly column in the Wolf Point Herald-News in 1989, written at the request of its editor Andrew McKean to prepare the town for its 1990 Diamond Jubilee, and spent the following seven years expanding it. Obituaries of prominent citizens are reprinted in the style in which they first appeared, and the Wolf Point High School graduating classes are listed from 1919 to 1965. More than five hundred restored photographs carry the text, many of them lent from private collections by Herald-News readers, along with county maps and facsimile pages from the guide book Over T.R. Highway. The index of proper names covers every person mentioned in the book, which makes it a working genealogical source for the region as much as a town history. Presser was born in Glasgow, Montana to homesteader families on both sides, and served Wolf Point as basketball coach, city councilman and chamber of commerce president.
