In Good condition, no dust jacket. Pale olive-green cloth boards with gilt lettering and a small publisher's device to the spine; the lower half-inch of the spine has faded, carrying onto the foot of the front cover and its bottom edge, with mild shelf wear and light flecking to the cloth; binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. A photographic field study of southern Africa's eagles at the nest, drawn from years of observation in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and South Africa, with a foreword by Leslie Brown. Steyn treats the Black Eagle in the Matopos, the Fish Eagle, Wahlberg's, Tawny, Crowned, Martial, and African Hawk-Eagle, the Snake Eagles, and the Bateleur, illustrating each with his own pioneering color and black-and-white photographs. This is the Sable Publishers edition, Sandton, reprinting the work first published in 1973-74 by Purnell in South Africa and Macdonald & Jane's in Britain.
