In Good condition. Illustrated paper wraps with light bumping and creasing to edges and corners, mild to moderate shelf and edge wear, some scuffing, and some color loss along edges and spine. Sticker residue at top edge of front cover; soiling to rear cover. Staple bound; binding tight. Interior pages mildly toned. All twenty-nine gummed color stamps present, mounted in the text as issued. Otherwise unmarked. Number in the National Audubon Society's Nature Program, the educational series Nelson Doubleday sold by monthly subscription through the 1950s and 1960s. Each sixty-four-page digest came with a centerfold sheet of gummed full-color stamps that the reader moistened and mounted in labeled boxes beside the text, in the manner of the Golden stamp albums of the era, with completed volumes kept in matching pull-out slipcases. This copy is complete, all twenty-nine color stamps present and mounted as issued, a state uncommon in a format built to be handled by children, where stamps were routinely lost or never placed. The text surveys the flowering trees of the tropics, among them silk cotton, silver trumpet, frangipani, cannonball, orchid tree, and mimosa. First issued in 1956 under Edwin A. Menninger; this 1965 edition is credited to Jane S. Kinne.
