In Very Good condition. Red pictorial paper covers with light bumping to edges and corners and a hint of peeling at the corner tips. Mild shelf wear. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked.Volume two of a grassroots local history of Castelfranco Emilia, a town in the province of Modena, Emilia-Romagna. Written and illustrated by Giuseppe (Beppe) Magni, a native of the town (born 1932), it gathers anecdotes, portraits of local characters and their dialect nicknames ("scucmai"), vanished trades, local firms, and candid socio-economic observations of the town's past, drawn largely from living memory and oral tradition. Illustrated with historical photographs of Castelfranco (many from the postcard collection "Castelfranco Emilia in cartolina") and with cartoon vignettes by the author and by Luca Degli Angeli, cartoonist for Il Resto del Carlino. The foreword is by Sergio Graziosi, then the newly elected mayor of Castelfranco Emilia.
