Illustrated wraps with French flaps reproducing Hall's painting The Conjuror (2000); light bumping and creasing to edges and corners, mild shelf wear with a hint of color loss along edges and spine. Binding tight. Otherwise unmarked. Exhibition catalog published for the Palm Springs Art Museum retrospective (May 24 to September 14, 2008) of California realist painter D.J. (Debra Jane) Hall, born Los Angeles 1951. Hall's luminous, sharply detailed paintings depict privileged, smiling women against Palm Springs pools and Los Angeles beaches, probing self-image, fleeting youth, and aging beneath their sunlit surfaces.
