Condition & notes

In very good condition, no dust jacket. Glossy pictorial paper over boards (photograph of a baroque library hall) show light bumping to edges and corners and mild shelf wear. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Photographic survey of eight celebrated Hungarian libraries: the National Szechenyi Library, the Reguly Antal Library at Zirc, the former Franciscan library at Gyongyos, the Helikon Library at Keszthely in the Festetics Palace, the Benedictine Archabbey library at Pannonhalma, the Reformed College libraries of Sarospatak and Debrecen, and the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Photographs include the great hall interiors and treasures from the collections: Corvinas from Matthias Corvinus's Bibliotheca Corviniana, illuminated manuscripts, Hungarian incunabula and early printed books, Ottoman Turkish and Persian manuscripts, illuminated Hebrew codices, natural history plates, and Art Nouveau era posters and periodicals.
