In Very Good condition with a Good dust jacket. Baby blue cloth-covered boards with "DREAMS" stamped on front board and spine in silver. Mild shelf wear to boards with some color loss along edges. Binding tight. Previous owner's gift inscription in dark ink on the dedication page. Otherwise unmarked. Dust jacket has a few small nicks and tears with light creasing along edges, a few surface scuffs and mild to moderate shelf wear with some color loss to the black coating. Now in an archival quality (removable) Brodart cover.A small Louisiana regional volume pairing the nature poetry of Mary Elizabeth Land (b. 1908, Natchitoches) with color photographs by John C. Guillet, an award-winning photographer from the same town. Short meditative verses interleaved with full-page color images of flowers, foliage, and horses. Mary Land was a Louisiana writer best known regionally for Louisiana Cookery (1954) and New Orleans Cuisine (1969), and the author of two earlier poetry collections (Shadows of the Swamp; Abode). Guillet's photographs also appeared in the Service League of Natchitoches's Cane River Cuisine and in Eastman Kodak's Applied Photography. Scarce.
