In Good condition. Glossy illustrated wraps with a bright orange back cover. Light bumping increases to the edges and corners. Mild shelf wear with fading to the back cover near the spine and along the top edge, and some toning near the spine. A 1/2-inch square chip to the paper over the middle of the spine. Binding is tight. Pages are unmarked with light toning to the inside of the covers. Otherwise unmarked.The 1978 Seattle Art Museum exhibition catalog covering art and artists of the Pacific Northwest, 1945-70. Curated by Charles Cowles and Sarah Clark with the principal essay by Martha Kingsbury of the University of Washington, it documents the museum's permanent collection of Northwest art for the first time, focusing on the artists associated with the Northwest School: Mark Tobey, Morris Graves, Guy Anderson, William Cumming, Kenneth Callahan, Paul Horiuchi, George Tsutakawa, Margaret Tomkins, Leo Kenney, Hilda Morris, Clayton S. Price, Ambrose Patterson, and others. Kingsbury's essay traces the development of a regional sensibility from the 1940s through 1970. Includes biographies and selected references for seventeen artists and a complete exhibition checklist of 128 works. Designed by Douglas Wadden, with photography by Paul Macapia, Johsel Namkung, and Mary Randlett. Printed in an edition of 35,000 soft bound copies.
