In Very Good condition. The peach paper covers show light shelf wear with some fading along the edges, and a faint rectangular sticker residue on the rear cover. Binding solid. Interior pages clean and unmarked.A small-format monograph on Frey House 1 (1941, with 1953 addition) and Frey House 2 (1964, with 1971 addition), Albert Frey's two personal residences in Palm Springs, California. Edited and written by Jennifer Golub and designed by Simon Johnston (praxis). The book reproduces photographs by Albert Frey himself drawn from his personal album (1930-1935 and later) and architectural photographs by Julius Shulman and Charles Wittenmeier, alongside floor plans, sections, a solar diagram calculated for the 33°50' N Palm Springs latitude, stills from Frey's 8mm and 16mm films, and pages from his scrapbooks. Frey (1903-1998) was a Swiss-born architect who apprenticed in Le Corbusier's atelier before emigrating to the United States; his Palm Springs houses are landmark works of International Style and desert modernism.
