Government Printer, Pretoria, Published April 1939. Wraps, pp. 487-654 (167 pp); 24 cm; with botanical line illustrations, half-tone herbarium plates, and a distribution map.

Condition & notes

In Good condition. The brown illustrated paper covers have a one-inch slit along the front spine fold and a one-half inch tear to the paper at the top edge of the spine along the crease. Light bumping and creasing to the edges, light overall toning to the covers, and light shelf wear. Staple bound. Pages mildly toned but otherwise clean and unmarked.A single issue (Volume III, Part 4) of Bothalia, the scientific periodical of the National Herbarium of the Union of South Africa, edited by I. B. Pole Evans (Director of the Botanical Survey of the Union of South Africa). The journal published taxonomic revisions, regional flora studies, and original descriptions of South African plants and fungi. This part collects six papers contributed in 1939, with detailed botanical line drawings (several by Betty Connell), half-tone plates of herbarium specimens by H.
