In Very Good condition with a Very Good dust jacket. Light brown cloth-covered boards with gold lettering on the front board and spine. Mild shelf wear. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. The pale green dust jacket with red title cartouche has a half-inch tear at the top of the spine and light shelf wear. Now in an archival quality (removable) Brodart cover.A short biographical lecture on Augustus Wollaston Franks (1826-1897), Keeper of British and Medieval Antiquities and Ethnography at the British Museum, responsible for many of the Museum's most significant acquisitions (including the Royal Gold Cup and the Anglo-Saxon whalebone Franks Casket) and a major donor of ceramics, jewellery, and ethnographic material.
