In Good condition. Pale green paper wraps printed in black, the front cover with title and Smithsonian seal, the rear cover with a printed torch ornament. A few small nicks along the edges and some stress tearing to the paper along the stapled spine. A university library receipt stamp dated November 22, 1948 on the rear cover. Mild shelf wear and light toning to the covers. Binding is tight. Pages lightly toned but otherwise clean and unmarked. Notably, several leaves remain unopened along the top and fore edges, indicating the pamphlet has seen little handling since publication.Part 3, the concluding part, of Theodor Mortensen's taxonomic report on the sea urchins collected by the U.S. Bureau of Fisheries steamer Albatross during its landmark Philippine Expedition of 1907-1910. Mortensen (1868-1952), the Danish zoologist regarded as the twentieth century's leading authority on echinoderms and author of the monumental five-volume A Monograph of the Echinoidea (1928-1951), here treats thirteen families spanning four orders.
