In Very Good condition. Gold-yellow illustrated paper cover with an oval vignette engraving of the Victorian mansion tower and gas lamp. Mild shelf wear with light creasing to edges and mild toning. Unmarked.Promotional brochure for the Governor's Mansion at 16th and H Streets, Sacramento, California, issued by the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation. Single sheet folded to eight panels (four per side). Exterior panels comprise the cover, an "Official Residence" panel with a photograph of the main staircase, and a two-panel "Brief History" tracing the Italianate house built in 1877 for Albert Gallatin, acquired by the State in 1903, and designated State Historical Landmark No. 823 in 1968. Interior spread lists the thirteen governors who lived in the Mansion (from George Cooper Pardee through Ronald Reagan) with brief biographical notes, illustrated with eight numbered black-and-white photographs of exterior views, the front parlor, governors' bedrooms of different eras, the music-room fireplace, the entrance hall, and the Reagan family. A notable period detail: the brochure states "Governor Ronald Reagan lived in the Mansion during the first part of 1967, and it is still his official residence," carefully eliding the Reagans' well-publicized departure from the building shortly after his inauguration.
