Pale pink paper covers with a reproduced Renaissance engraving of a printer's workshop on the front cover; mild shelf wear with light bumping to edges and some color loss along edges. Binding tight. Part I (General Works, entries 1 through 1448) covers reference books, museum and exhibition catalogues, and catalogues raisonnés of collections. Part II (Monographs on Artists, beginning at entry 1449) presents works on individual printmakers and draftsmen, alphabetically from Alastair and Josef Albers through the twentieth century.Significant entries include: a first edition of Bernard Berenson's The Drawings of the Florentine Painters (E.P. Dutton, 1903, two volumes, limited to 355 copies printed at the Ballantyne Press, with 180 color collotype plates later replaced by inferior monochrome illustrations in subsequent editions) at $3,000; a complete run of Die graphischen Künste (Gesellschaft für vervielfältigende Kunst, Vienna, 1879-1933), all 56 volumes, at $32,500; a complete set of the Vignier, Inada, and Koechlin signed limited-edition catalogues of Japanese ukiyo-e prints exhibited at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs from 1909 through 1914 (six volumes, Paris) at $4,500; Abraham Bloemaert's Oorspronkelyk en Vermaard Konstryk Tekenboek (Amsterdam, 1740), the great Dutch eighteenth-century drawing manual engraved by Frederik Bloemaert after his father Abraham, at $3,500; and a complete set of the Vasari Society for the Reproduction of Drawings by Old Masters, Series I and II (32 parts, Oxford University Press, 1905-1935) at $6,000.
