In Very Good condition. Glossy pictorial paper covers (front cover featuring Harada's painting of New York's Central Park) with mild shelf wear and light bumping to edges and corners. Binding tight, interior pages clean and unmarked.Catalogue of the 1991 homecoming exhibition "Taiji Harada on a Tour of America", organized by Asahi Shimbun to present in Japan the works from Harada's 1989-1991 American touring exhibition held at the Triton Museum of Art, Santa Clara, and in Chicago, New York, Honolulu, and Los Angeles. Per the colophon, this catalogue was re-edited for the Japan homecoming tour from the one produced for the American exhibition and includes a preface by Asahi Shimbun president Toshitada Nakae and a companion message from Michael H. Armacost, United States Ambassador to Japan (both dated August 1991). Text designed by Taiji Harada; translated by Yuriko Mori; produced by Chuo Planning Company. Harada (1940-2022), born in Suwa, Nagano Prefecture and a graduate of Musashino Art University, was a leading figure in Japanese naive and folk-art painting, known for vibrant, intricately detailed scenes of rural life, agrarian traditions, and the four seasons of Japan.Contents: Message (Toshitada Nakae); Message (Michael H.
