Condition & notes

In Acceptable condition. Illustrated covers in blue, white, and black with a striking Art Deco design by Barbelle featuring cascading floral elements and a central shield motif; 3/4-inch chip to top edge of front cover; covers split along fold and repaired with old tape (tape has since split again); a few 1-inch or less nicks, tears, and creasing to edges; mild to moderate overall toning; interior pages unmarked. Rear cover prints "Moonlight" by Con Conrad with musical notation and star border design. Interior advertisements include musical excerpts from "You Made Me Forget How to Cry" and "Peaches."Popular song sheet music for "Margie," with lyrics by Benny Davis and music by Con Conrad and J. Russel Robinson. "Margie" was one of the hit songs of 1920, popularized by the Original Dixieland Jazz Band and Eddie Cantor, who named the song after his daughter. Cover illustration by the prolific sheet music artist Albert Wilfred Barbelle (1887-1957), known professionally as "Barbelle," whose elegant Art Deco designs graced hundreds of Tin Pan Alley publications.
