Condition & notes

In Good condition. Black glossy pictorial covers with color reproduction of a Lalique jewelry piece on the front and "Lalique" in gold script; light bumping and creasing to edges of covers and light overall surface scuffing with some color loss along edges and spine and at top front cover where a price sticker was removed. Binding is sound. Previous owner's name inscribed in red ink on the front free endpaper; otherwise pages are unmarked. Exhibition catalog for the first exhibition in the United States devoted to the Art Nouveau jewelry of Rene Lalique (1860-1945), organized in cooperation with the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon. Includes forty-seven jewelry pieces from the Gulbenkian collection, thirty-five related drawings from the Lalique Family Collection, and ten pieces from American collections. Each piece is illustrated and described with materials, dimensions, provenance, and detailed commentary. Includes a glossary of jewelry terms and an extensive bibliography.
