Covers show moderate wear with age toning, creasing, soiling and surface wear with some color loss along edges and spine; previous owner's name and address stamped on front cover; staple binding is intact; pages show light toning but are otherwise unmarked. A dramatic pictorial record of the devastating Christmas flood of 1955 in Northwestern California, documenting the widespread destruction along the Klamath River, Eel River, and surrounding communities. Photographs show the destroyed town of Klamath, flooded towns of Orick and Weott, wrecked lumber mills, collapsed bridges at Fernbridge and Scotia Bluffs, damaged railroads, highway washouts along Highway 101 through the Redwood Region, and the aftermath in communities throughout Humboldt and Del Norte counties.
