In very good condition. Original illustrated paper covers with light shelf wear, soiling, and faint toning; corners lightly rubbed; spine sound. Binding firm. Interior pages clean and unmarked. A small-format illustrated collection of frontier-era anecdotes and reminiscences centered on early life in and around Glacier National Park, Montana. Written by noted western artist Asa Lynn "Ace" Powell, with editorial introduction by Van Kirke Nelson, M.D. The stories recount humorous and informal incidents drawn from Powell's own experiences and those of friends during the park's early years, when travel was primarily by horseback. Illustrated throughout by Ace Powell, whose drawings and reproduced artworks depict western characters, frontier humor, Native American subjects, animals, and park life. Includes a portrait of Ace Powell by Fred Fellows and reproductions of Powell's sculpture and drawings.
